{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.9-080","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.9-080","heading":"Licensure requirements -- Forms.","body":"(1) Except as provided in KRS 304.52 -030, an individual or business entity shall not\nsell, solicit, or negotiate insurance in this state unless duly licensed as the\nappropriate insurance producer for that line of authority in accordance with this\nsubtitle or Subtitle 10 of this chapter.\n(2) Except as provided in KRS 304.9 -430, no individual or business entity shall in this\nstate be, act as, or hold himself, herself, or itself out as an adjuster unless then\nlicensed as an adjuster.\n(3) No individual or business entity shall in this state be, act as, or hold himself, herself,\nor itself out as a consultant unless then licensed as a consultant. No consultant shall\nact as a consultant with respect to any kind of insurance unless duly licensed as a\nconsultant for that line of authority.\n(4) Except as provided in KRS 304.9 -410 and 304.9 -270(4), no agent shall place, and\nno insurer shall accept, any insurance with any insurer as to which the agent does\nnot then hold a license and appointment as agent under this subtitle.\n(5) A rental vehicle agent or rental vehicle managing employee shall not place, and an\ninsurer shall not accept, any insurance with any insurer as to which the licensee\ndoes not then hold a license and appointment under this subtitle.\n(6) A travel retaile r, its employee, or its representative shall not offer and disseminate\ntravel insurance, on behalf or under the direction of, and an insurer shall not accept\nany travel insurance from, a limited lines travel insurance producer except in\naccordance with KRS 304.52-030.\n(7) No person shall act as a travel retailer that offers and disseminates travel insurance\nunless that person is registered in accordance with KRS 304.52-030(3).\n(8) The commissioner shall prescribe and furnish all forms required under this su btitle\nas to licenses and appointments.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50985","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:40Z","sha256":"09d24a66cac31431cf2448fce0a31181018616076286ee22a80464d8dd0e540e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.9-070","next":"us-ky/krs-304.9-085"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
