{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.9-130","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.9-130","heading":"Licensing of business entities as agents.","body":"(1) A business entity acting as an agent is required to obtain an agent license.\nApplication shall be made using the uniform business entity application or other\napplication prescribed by the commissioner. Before approving the application of a\nbusiness entity as a resident or as a nonresident which is not eligible to be issued a\nlicense in accordance with KRS 304.9-140, the commissioner shall find that:\n(a) The business entity has paid the fees set forth in KRS 304.4-010;\n(b) Each officer, director, and member of the business entity who is acting as an\nagent has obtained an agent's license;\n(c) The business entity has disclosed to the Department of Insurance the identity\nof all officers and directors and whether or not they are licensed as\nagents; and\n(d) The bu siness entity has designated a licensed agent responsible for the\nbusiness entity's compliance with the insurance laws and regulations of this\nstate.\n(2) Within thirty (30) days of the change, the licensee shall notify the commissioner of\nall changes among its members, directors, officers, and other individuals designated\nin or registered as to the license.\n(3) Each agent authorized to act for the business entity shall be designated with the\ncommissioner as to the license in accordance with KRS 304.9-133.\n(4) The commissioner may require additional information or submissions from\napplicants and may obtain any documents or information reasonably necessary to\nverify the information contained in an application.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=16902","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:40Z","sha256":"466fbd7883bd16b1de41dca8d3ddb4314b4e7ee0a8aaae0c145f4f8f5046fab8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.9-120","next":"us-ky/krs-304.9-133"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
