{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.9-505","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.9-505","heading":"License for business entity to act as rental vehicle agent -- Registration","body":"fee and licensed managing employee for each business location -- Application\nand qualifications for license.\n(1) A license issued under this section shall permit rental vehic le insurance sales by the\nlicense holder provided the sales are conducted in accordance with the provisions of\nKRS 304.9-507.\n(2) A business entity licensee shall register with the commissioner each separate\nbusiness location where its employees sell, soli cit, or negotiate insurance and may\npay a location registration fee for each separate location.\n(3) A rental vehicle agent managing employee with an active license issued by the\ncommissioner shall oversee employees at each assigned location.\n(4) The commis sioner may issue to a business entity qualified under this section a\nlicense to act as a rental vehicle agent.\n(5) For a license to be issued under this section, the business entity shall submit to the\ncommissioner all of the following:\n(a) A written appli cation, signed by the authorized representative of the business\nentity, on a form prescribed by the commissioner, that contains the\ninformation prescribed by the commissioner;\n(b) Satisfaction of all general agent licensing requirements as prescribed in KR S\n304.9-105(1)(c) and (2);\n(c) The application fee, appointment fee, and location registration fee as provided\nin KRS 304.4-010;\n(d) A business entity applicant shall submit a list of physical locations where\nactivities authorized by the rental vehicle agent license will be conducted; and\n(e) A business entity applicant shall ensure that each proposed licensed managing\nemployee has successfully completed a prelicensing course of study and\nsuccessfully passed a rental vehicle examination approved by the\ncommissioner.\n(6) The commissioner may require any documents reasonably necessary to verify the\ninformation contained in the application submitted in accordance with subsection\n(5) of this section.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=16964","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:41Z","sha256":"d74748b3e5092d0ad1dd4a9935d3ee03d11b0a7c2c84205911fb57bf5d937e28","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.9-503","next":"us-ky/krs-304.9-507"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
