{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-309.080","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 309.080","heading":"Definitions for KRS 309.080 to 309.089.","body":"As used in KRS 309.080 to 309.089, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Associate alcohol and drug counselor I\" means a person certified by the board who\nmeets the requirements of KRS 309.0841;\n(2) \"Associate alcohol and drug counselor II\" means a p erson certified by the board\nwho meets the requirements of KRS 309.0842;\n(3) \"Board\" means the Kentucky Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors;\n(4) \"Certified alcohol and drug counselor\" means a person certified by the board who\nmeets the requirements in KRS 309.083;\n(5) \"Certified clinical supervisor\" means a person certified by the board who meets the\nrequirements of KRS 309.0834;\n(6) \"Certificate holder\" means an alcohol and drug counselor who is certified pursuant\nto KRS 309.080 to 309.089;\n(7) \"Licensed alcohol and drug counselor\" means a person licensed by the board who\nmeets the requirements of KRS 309.0830;\n(8) \"Licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor\" means a person licensed by the\nboard who meets the requirements of KRS 309.0832;\n(9) \"Licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor associate\" means a person licensed\nby the board who meets the requirements of KRS 309.0833;\n(10) \"Licensee\" means a clinical alcohol and drug counselor who is licensed pursuant to\nKRS 309.080 to 309.089;\n(11) \"Practice of alcohol and drug counseling\":\n(a) Means the assessment and counseling of an individual, family, or group\ndealing with an alcohol or drug problem or addiction; and\n(b) Does not include the diagnosis or treatment of a mental health condition, or\nthe administration or interpretation of psychological tests;\n(12) \"Registered alcohol and drug peer support specialist\" means a person register ed by\nthe board who meets the requirements in KRS 309.0831; and\n(13) \"Registrant\" means an alcohol and drug peer support specialist who is registered\npursuant to KRS 309.080 to 309.089.","path":["KRS Chapter 309"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54945","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:01Z","sha256":"be4d218390fc87949b1348506758290b9bb4525d8431adfac120d94139689c7f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-307.991","next":"us-ky/krs-309.0805"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
