{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-309.084","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 309.084","heading":"Certification of applicants -- Administrative regulations.","body":"(1) The board shall license, certify, or register, as appropriate, any applicant who meets\nall of the requirements for licensure, certification, or registration set out in KRS\n309.083, 309.0831, and 309.0832 and subsection (2) of this section, pays the fees\nestablished by the board, and is not disqualified pursuant to KRS 309.086.\n(2) (a) The board shall promulgate administrative regulations establishing a limited\nperiod of time, not less than ninety (90) days nor more than one (1) year,\nduring which licensure may be extended to persons not meeting all the\nprovisions of KRS 309.0832 if:\n1. The person is a certified alcohol and drug counselor in Kentucky prior to\nJune 24, 2015; and\n2. The applicant has a master's degree or a doctoral degree in a behavioral\nscience with clinical application from a regionally accredited college or\nuniversity or a college or university accredited by an agency recognized\nby the United States Department of Education.\n(b) After the expiration of the time period established by the board in\nadministrative regulation under paragraph (a) of this subsection, the applicant\nfor licensure shall meet the qualifications established in KRS 309.0832 or\n309.0833.\n(c) Applicants granted licensure under paragraph (a) of this subsection shall be\ngranted authority to provide clinical supervision, as specified in regulations\npromulgated in accordance with KRS 309.0814(1), without delay to alcohol\nand drug counselors currently holding certification or licensure and those\nseeking certification or licensure.\n.Effective: June 24, 2015","path":["KRS Chapter 309"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=44298","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:01Z","sha256":"366a455d735a7d6f47f3cba3f3b6a849f1fe345a459e892cb830120a66622ea7","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-309.0836","next":"us-ky/krs-309.0841"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
