{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-309.088","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 309.088","heading":"Reciprocity for licensure, certification, and registration.","body":"(1) The board may permit an out -of-state certified clinical supervisor, licensed alcohol\nand drug counselor, licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor, certified alcohol\nand drug counselor, associate alcohol and drug counselor II, associate alcohol and\ndrug counselor I, or alcohol and drug peer support specialist to obtain a license,\ncertificate, or registration by reciprocity if:\n(a) The out -of-state licensee, certificate ho lder, or registrant possesses a valid\nlicense, certificate, or registration from another jurisdiction that grants the\nsame privileges to persons licensed, certified, or registered by this state as\nKentucky grants to persons licensed, certified, or register ed by the other\njurisdiction;\n(b) The requirements for licensure, certification, or registration are substantially\nsimilar to the requirements in KRS 309.080 to 309.089; and\n(c) The out -of-state licensee, certificate holder, or registrant seeking licensure ,\ncertification, or registration states that he or she has studied, is familiar with,\nand shall abide by KRS 309.080 to 309.089 and the administrative regulations\npromulgated thereunder.\n(2) If the requirements for licensure, certification, or registration under KRS 309.080 to\n309.089 are more restrictive than the standards of the other jurisdiction, then the\nout-of-state licensee, certificate holder, or registrant shall comply with the\nadditional requirements in KRS 309.080 to 309.089 to obtain a reciproca l license,\ncertificate, or registration.","path":["KRS Chapter 309"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54953","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:01Z","sha256":"777b784ba7aa01a755bd6e89fab566e9b3d4a8be257d1a550a9e92d27672098b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-309.087","next":"us-ky/krs-309.089"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
