{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-309.131","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 309.131","heading":"Kentucky Board of Licensure for Professional Art Therapists.","body":"(1) There is hereby created the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Professional Art\nTherapists that shall be attached to the Department of Professional Licensing\nin the Public Protection Cabinet for administrative purposes. The board shall\nconsist of five (5) members  who are United States citizens and have been\nKentucky residents for at least five (5) years prior to their appointment. The\nboard membership shall be determined as follows:\n(a) Four (4) members  shall be professional art therapists who are licensed\npursuant to KRS  309.133, and shall have engaged in art therapy practice\nfor at least five (5) years. These members  shall not hold any elected or\nappointed office in any professional organization of art therapy or closely\nrelated field during their tenure on the board; and\n(b) One  (1) member  shall represent the public. The public member  shall not\nhave been licensed or have practiced as a professional art therapist, nor\nhave  any significant financial interest, either direct or indirect, in the\nprofession of art therapy.\n(2) All members  of the board shall be appointed by the Governor for staggered\nterms of four (4) years.\n(3) The  four (4) professional members  shall be appointed from a list of eight (8)\nnames  submitted by the board of directors of the Kentucky Art Therapy\nAssociation, Inc., and the one (1) public member  shall be a citizen at large.\nEach  member  shall hold office until a successor is appointed. Vacancies shall\nbe filled in the same manner as original appointments. No board member  shall\nserve more than two (2) consecutive terms.\n(4) Each  board candidate shall be licensed as an art therapist prior to nomination\nand  shall be actively engaged in the practicing or teaching of art therapy,\nexcept for the one (1) public member.\n(5) Members  of the board shall receive no compensation, perquisite, or allowance.\n(6) The board shall elect annually from its membership a chairman, secretary, and\nother officers as necessary to carry out its duties.\n(7) The board shall meet at least two (2) times each year. Additional meetings may\nbe called by the chairman, upon the written request of at least two (2) members\nof the board.
