{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-309.1335","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 309.1335","heading":"Renewal of license -- Continuing education experience requirement --","body":"Suspension -- Reinstatement -- Retirement notification.\n(1) Each license holder shall renew the license to practice art therapy biennially by:\n(a) Submitting a renewal application on a form provided by the board;\n(b) Paying a license renewal fee; and\n(c) Producing evidence of completion of relevant professional continuing\neducation experience satisfactory to the board and not to exceed forty (40)\nhours per renewal cycle.\n(2) A nine ty (90) day grace period shall be allowed for each license holder after the\nlicensure period, during which time the license may be renewed upon payment of\nthe renewal fee, the late fee, and compliance with all renewal requirements.\n(3) Any license granted by the board shall be automatically suspended if the holder fails\nto apply for the license renewal pursuant to this section within a period of three (3)\nmonths after the renewal deadline; however, any suspended license may be restored\nby the board upon payment of a reinstatement fee not to exceed one hundred dollars\n($100) in addition to any unpaid renewal or late fees. Failure to renew a license\nwithin three (3) months from the date of suspension as provided in this section shall\ncause the license to be au tomatically revoked. Reinstatement of a revoked license\nshall require the license holder to reapply and meet all current standards for\nlicensure.\n(4) A person licensed under the provisions of KRS 309.133 who intends to retire as a\nlicensed professional art  therapist, or as a licensed professional art therapist\nassociate, shall notify the board in writing before the expiration of his or her current\nlicense. If, within a period of five (5) years from the year of retirement, the license\nholder wishes to resume  practice as a licensed professional art therapist, or as a\nlicensed professional art therapist associate, he or she shall notify the board in\nwriting, and upon giving proof of completing the required continuing education and\nthe payment of an amount equiv alent to elapsed renewal fees, and for the licensed\nprofessional art therapist associate, obtaining a board -approved supervisor of\nrecord, the license shall be restored in full effect.","path":["KRS Chapter 309"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42311","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:01Z","sha256":"99f08b659c98ec323a54ee78f5d2d571d0bf83924850510ece9ae9470a5b1aaf","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-309.133","next":"us-ky/krs-309.134"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
