{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-309.314","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 309.314","heading":"Renewal and reinstatement of license -- Continuing education.","body":"(1) Each person licensed as an interpreter shall annually, on or before July 1, submit to\nthe board current proof of nationally recognized certification and pay a fee for the\nrenewal of the interpreter license. The amount of the fee shall be promulgated by\nadministrative regulation of the board. All licenses not renewed by July 1 of each\nyear shall expire.\n(2) A sixty (60) day grace period shall be allowed after July 1, during which time\nindividuals may continue to practice and may renew their licenses upon pay ment of\nthe renewal fee plus a late renewal fee as promulgated by administrative regulation\nof the board.\n(3) All licenses not renewed by August 31 shall terminate based on the failure of the\nindividual to renew in a timely manner. Upon termination, the li censee is no longer\neligible to practice in the Commonwealth.\n(4) After the sixty (60) day grace period, but before five (5) years from the date of\ntermination, individuals with a terminated license may have their licenses reinstated\nupon payment of the r enewal fee plus a reinstatement fee as promulgated by\nadministrative regulation of the board.\n(5) A suspended license is subject to expiration and termination and may be renewed as\nprovided in KRS 309.300 to 309.319. Renewal shall not entitle the licensee to\nengage in the practice of interpreting until the suspension has ended or is otherwise\nremoved by the board and the right to practice is restored by the board.\n(6) A revoked license is subject to expiration and termination but shall not be renewed.\nIf it  is reinstated, the licensee shall pay the reinstatement fee as set forth in\nsubsection (4) of this section and the renewal fee as set forth in subsection (1) of\nthis section.\n(7) The board may require that a person applying for renewal or reinstatement of\nlicensure show evidence of completion of continuing education as prescribed by the\nboard by administrative regulation.","path":["KRS Chapter 309"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=30358","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:02Z","sha256":"24be414c5b6f4053e29b2f9a16a4bccad4d898613a33b0ab9a35d90402409daf","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-309.312","next":"us-ky/krs-309.316"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
