{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-309.329","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 309.329","heading":"Kentucky Board of Licensed Diabetes Educators.","body":"(1) There is hereby created the Kentucky Board of Licensed Diabetes Educators\nconsisting of five (5) members  who shall be appointed by the Governor as\nfollows:\n(a) One  (1) member  shall be a licensed medical physician with experience in\nthe delivery of diabetes education appointed from a list of three (3) names\nsubmitted by the State Board of Medical Licensure;\n(b) One  (1) member  shall be a registered nurse with experience in diabetes\neducation appointed from a list of three (3) names  submitted by the\nKentucky Board of Nursing;\n(c) One  (1) member  shall be  a  pharmacist experienced in diabetes\neducation, licensed under KRS  Chapter 315, and appointed from a list of\nthree (3) names submitted by the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy;\n(d) One  (1) member  shall be a licensed dietitian or certified nutritionist with\nexperience in diabetes education appointed from a list of three (3) names\nsubmitted by the Kentucky Board of Licensure and Certification for\nDietitians and Nutritionists; and\n(e) One  (1) member  shall be a citizen at large who is not employed in the\nhealth care field.\nOne  (1) of the members  appointed under paragraph (b), (c), or (d) of this\nsubsection shall have completed either the credentialing program of the\nAmerican Association of Diabetes Educators or the National Certification Board\nfor Diabetes Educators.\n(2) (a) The  Governor shall initially appoint one (1) member  and the citizen at\nlarge to terms of four (4) years, two (2) members  to terms of three (3)\nyears, and one (1) member  to a term of two (2) years.\n(b) All reappointments to the board shall be for terms of four (4) years.\n(c) No  member  shall serve more than two (2) consecutive terms and shall\nserve on the board until his or her successor is appointed.\n(3) The  board shall organize annually and elect one (1) of its members  as chair\nand one (1) of its members  as secretary. A quorum of the board shall consist of\nthree (3) members. The board shall meet at least semiannually and upon the\ncall of the chair, or at the request of two (2) or more members  to the secretary\nof the board.\n(4) The board shall be placed for administrative purposes under the Department of\nProfessional Licensing of the Public Protection Cabinet.","path":["KRS Chapter 309"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=45667","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:02Z","sha256":"6a32824a985e77017fcd485c355e1d0d2c483eaa3ef190e14025bce6a78a64d8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-309.328","next":"us-ky/krs-309.331"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
