{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-309.464","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 309.464","heading":"Duties of Department for Public Health.","body":"The department shall:\n(1) Promulgate administrative regulations, in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A,\nnecessary to carry out the provisions of KRS 309.462, including establishing:\n(a) The core competencies of community health work;\n(b) The community health worker certification appli cation and renewal process,\nincluding training, mentorship, and continuing education requirements;\n(c) A certification application and renewal fee;\n(d) Procedures for certification denial, suspension, and revocation; and\n(e) The scope of practice for certified community health workers;\n(2) Approve competency-based training programs and training providers, which shall\ninclude the Kentucky Community and Technical College System;\n(3) Approve organizations to provide continuing education for certified community\nhealth workers; and\n(4) Work with the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education and the Kentucky\nCommunity and Technical College System to ensure that appropriate college course\ncredits are awarded to individuals who complete certified community health worker\ntraining, mentorship, and continuing education provided by competency -based\nproviders approved by the department.","path":["KRS Chapter 309"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52722","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:02Z","sha256":"dc7fcd6e847d42f18597004426439bb0d95b1877090f422a36067b50921e3ff1","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-309.462","next":"us-ky/krs-30a.010"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
