{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-311.1919","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 311.1919","heading":"Amending or revoking anatomical gift before donor's death.","body":"(1) Subject to KRS 311.1923, a donor or other person authorized to make an\nanatomical gift under KRS 311.1915 may amend or revoke an anatomical gift by:\n(a) A record signed by:\n1. The donor;\n2. The other person; or\n3. Subject to subsection (2) of this section,  another individual acting at the\ndirection of the donor or the other person if the donor or other person is\nphysically unable to sign; or\n(b) A later -executed document of gift that amends or revokes a previous\nanatomical gift or portion of an anatomical g ift, either expressly or by\ninconsistency.\n(2) A record signed pursuant to subsection (1)(a)3. of this section shall:\n(a) Be witnessed by at least two (2) adults, at least one (1) of whom is a\ndisinterested witness, who have signed at the request of the do nor or the other\nperson; and\n(b) State that it has been signed and witnessed as provided in paragraph (a) of this\nsubsection.\n(3) Subject to KRS 311.1923, a donor or other person authorized to make an\nanatomical gift under KRS 311.1915 may revoke an anatom ical gift by the\ndestruction or cancellation of the document of gift, or the portion of the document\nof gift used to make the gift, with the intent to revoke the gift.\n(4) A donor may amend or revoke an anatomical gift that was not made in a will by any\nform of communication during a terminal illness or injury addressed to at least two\n(2) adults, at least one (1) of whom is a disinterested witness.\n(5) A donor who makes an anatomical gift in a will may amend or revoke the gift in the\nmanner provided for amendment or revocation of wills or as provided in subsection\n(1) of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 311"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=30431","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:03Z","sha256":"c667c6c91fe98427adde59304ef601d9917df3a5a982ebcefa067b5f257b4756","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-311.1917","next":"us-ky/krs-311.1921"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
