{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-311.410","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 311.410","heading":"State Board of Podiatry -- Qualifications, terms of members -- Officers --","body":"Powers -- Meetings -- Immunity.\n(1) There is hereby created in the government of the Commonwealth a State Board of\nPodiatry which shall consist of five (5) members, ea ch appointed by the Governor.\nFour (4) members shall be appointed from lists of three (3) names for each position\nsubmitted by the Kentucky Podiatry Association. One (1) member shall be a citizen\nat large who is not associated with or financially intereste d in the practice or\nbusiness regulated. Any vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired term by the\nGovernor, as provided in the original appointment.\n(2) A person to be eligible for appointment as a podiatrist member of the board shall be\nat least twenty -one (21) years of age, of good moral character, a resident of this\nstate, and a licensed practicing podiatrist in this state for at least five (5)\nconsecutive years next preceding the date of his or her appointment. A member of\nthe board shall not be a stoc kholder, officer, or member of the faculty or board of\ntrustees of any school, college, or institution of podiatry or chiropody.\n(3) The terms of office of each member shall be four (4) years, or until his or her\nsuccessor shall be appointed and qualified.\n(4) The board shall elect one (1) of its members as president and another of its\nmembers as secretary. The secretary may, subject to approval by the board, employ\nand fix the compensation of all personnel required for the administration of KRS\n311.380 to 311.500. The board may promulgate administrative regulations in\naccordance with KRS Chapter 13A, not inconsistent with KRS 311.380 to 311.500,\nas may be necessary to implement and carry out the provisions and purposes of\nKRS 311.380 to 311.500.\n(5) The board shall hold meetings at least twice a year and as frequently as it deems\nnecessary at such times and places as the board may designate. A majority of the\nmembers shall constitute a quorum.\n(6) The board may sue and be sued in its own name.\n(7) Members of  the board shall be immune from suit in any civil or criminal action\nwhich is based upon any official act or acts performed by them in good faith as\nmembers of the board.","path":["KRS Chapter 311"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57537","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:04Z","sha256":"5008f72d499e7dea7a5b37c395277ee3220c2c84fec76e4f811375376094a1f9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-311.400","next":"us-ky/krs-311.415"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
