{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-311.572","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 311.572","heading":"Order to show cause -- Hearing.","body":"(1) The board may issue an order directing an applicant for a license or the holder of a\nlicense to show cause why the applicant should be granted a license or the licensee\nshould not be disciplined, respectively, when:\n(a) An applicant admits or is otherwise found to have committed an act which\nconstitutes a violation of the provisions of this chapter; or\n(b) A licensee admits or is otherwise found to have committed an act in violation\nof the provisions of this chapter in any document relating to the registrat ion or\nreregistration of a license.\n(2) The order shall be signed by an officer of the board and shall state those violations\nwhich the board believes to have been committed. The matter shall be assigned to a\nhearing panel and shall proceed in accordance w ith KRS 311.591. The burden of\nproof shall lie with the charged physician.\n(3) The board may issue a provisional permit to practice medicine as provided in KRS\n311.550(27) and the board shall not approve any application for licensure or\napplication for reregistration of an inactive license or provisional permit until a final\norder on the matter has been issued.","path":["KRS Chapter 311"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=30526","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:04Z","sha256":"9d8051f54f188fd6e0c2bcc82a7739dee141da97377caad154a0cabb9de29416","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-311.571","next":"us-ky/krs-311.575"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
