{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-311.673","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 311.673","heading":"Administration regulations -- Acupuncture Advisory Committee --","body":"Membership -- Meetings -- Duties.\n(1) The board shall promulgate administrative regulations in accordance with KRS\nChapter 13A relating to the licensure and regulation, including temporar y licensure,\nof acupuncturists. Regulation of acupuncture includes continuing education\nrequirements and fee schedules.\n(2) The board shall establish an eight (8) member Acupuncture Advisory Committee\nthat shall review and make recommendations to the board regarding matters relating\nto acupuncturists that come before the board, including but not limited to:\n(a) Applications for acupuncturist licensure;\n(b) Licensure renewal requirements;\n(c) Fees;\n(d) Applicable standards of practice for acupuncture practitioners;\n(e) Continuing education requirements;\n(f) Rotating appointment of committee members;\n(g) Disciplinary actions, at the request of a panel of the board; and\n(h) Promulgation and revision of administrative regulations.\n(3) Members of the Acupuncturist Advisory Committee shall be appointed by the board\nfor four (4) year terms, on a rotating basis to provide for continuity, and shall\nconsist of:\n(a) One (1) member of the board;\n(b) Two (2) physicians licensed by the board whose practices include the use  of\nacupuncture;\n(c) One (1) member of the public who is not associated with or financially\ninterested in the practice of acupuncture; and\n(d) Four (4) acupuncture practitioners licensed by the board.\n(4) The chairperson and secretary of the committee shall be elected by a majority vote\nof the committee members annually. The president shall be responsible for\npresiding over meetings that shall be held on a regular basis, but no less than two\n(2) times each calendar year. Additional meetings may be held each calendar year at\nthe call of the chairperson or by the written request of at least three (3) committee\nmembers. The secretary shall keep a record of the minutes of the committee's\nmeetings. Five (5) membe rs of the committee shall constitute a quorum to conduct\nbusiness.\n(5) Members shall receive reimbursement for expenditures relating to attendance at\ncommittee meetings consistent with state policies for reimbursement of travel\nexpenses for state employees.\n(6) The board may remove any member on the member's request or for poor attendance\nat committee meetings, neglect of duties, or malfeasance in office.","path":["KRS Chapter 311"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43052","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:05Z","sha256":"63a1fbcda5115438837b07ef28fe28c0e455f61f2b95d5f8aa5f1c7cc0856714","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-311.672","next":"us-ky/krs-311.674"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
