{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-311.7741","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 311.7741","heading":"Report of complication, adverse event, medical treatment, or death","body":"following abortion.\n(1) A hospital, healthcare facility, or individual physician shall file a written report\nwith the cabinet regarding each patient who  comes  under the hospital's,\nhealthcare facility's, or physician\u0019s care and reports any complication or\nadverse event as defined under KRS  311.7731, requires medical treatment, or\nsuffers a death that the attending physician, hospital staff, or facility staff has\nreason to believe is a primary or secondary result of an abortion. The reports\nshall be completed by the hospital, healthcare facility, or attending physician\nwho  treated the patient, signed by the attending physician, and transmitted to\nthe cabinet within thirty (30) days of the discharge or death of the patient\ntreated for the complication or adverse event.\n(2) Each  report of a complication or adverse event as defined in KRS  311.7731,\nmedical treatment, or death following abortion required under this section shall\ncontain at minimum the information required by KRS 213.101.\n(3) Reports required under this section shall not contain:\n(a) The name of the patient;\n(b) Common  identifiers such as Social Security number  or motor vehicle\noperator\u0019s license number; or\n(c) Other information or identifiers that would make it possible to identify, in\nany manner or under any circumstances, a patient who has obtained an\nabortion and subsequently suffered an abortion complication or adverse\nevent as defined in KRS 311.7731.","path":["KRS Chapter 311"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52237","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:06Z","sha256":"c20d2dbf0c8cea613443a96b95f0f45aee70f6f64d18091662c36a176747ce4c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-311.774","next":"us-ky/krs-311.7743"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
