{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-311.842","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 311.842","heading":"Administrative regulations -- Physicians Assistant Advisory Committee --","body":"Membership -- Physician assistant students.\n(1) The board shall promulgate administrative regulations in accordance with KRS\nChapter 13A relating to the licensing an d regulation of physician assistants,\nincluding but not limited to:\n(a) Temporary licensing;\n(b) Professional standards for prescribing and administering controlled\nsubstances; and\n(c) Professional standards for prescribing or administering Buprenorphine -Mono-\nProduct or Buprenorphine-Combined-with-Naloxone.\n(2) The board shall establish a nine (9) member Physician Assistant Advisory\nCommittee that shall review and make recommendations to the board regarding all\nmatters relating to physician assistants that come before the board, including but not\nlimited to:\n(a) Applications for physician assistant licensing;\n(b) Licensing renewal requirements;\n(c) Approval of supervising physicians;\n(d) Disciplinary actions; and\n(e) Promulgation and revision of administrative regulations.\n(3) Members of the Physician Assistant Advisory Committee shall be appointed by the\nboard for four (4) year terms and shall consist of:\n(a) Five (5) practicing physician assistants, each selected from a list of three (3)\nnames submitted for each position by th e Kentucky Academy of Physician\nAssistants;\n(b) Two (2) supervising physicians;\n(c) One (1) member of the board; and\n(d) One (1) citizen at large.\n(4) The chairperson of the committee shall be a practicing physician assistant elected\nby a majority vote of the committee members and shall be responsible for presiding\nover meetings that shall be held on a regular basis.\n(5) Members shall receive reimbursement for expenditures relating to attendance at\ncommittee meetings consistent with state policies for reimb ursement of travel\nexpenses for state employees.\n(6) Members shall not serve more than two (2) consecutive terms.\n(7) Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to require licensing of a physician\nassistant student enrolled in a physician assistant or surg eon assistant program\naccredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician\nAssistants or its successor agencies or of a physician assistant employed in the\nservice of the federal government while performing duties relating to that\nemployment.","path":["KRS Chapter 311"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54802","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:06Z","sha256":"4e30215bb0a75ba59086f7e7738354f253a4768671a2163731897bf9e4f1997f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-311.840","next":"us-ky/krs-311.844"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
