{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-311.851","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 311.851","heading":"Physical or mental examination may be required.","body":"(1) When a hearing or inquiry panel, as described in KRS 311.591, has probable cause\nto believe a physician assistant is suffering from a physical or mental condition that\nmight impede his or her ability to practice competently, the panel, upon\nconsideration of recommendations of the Physician Assistant Advisory Committee\nestablished in KRS 311.842, may order the physician assistant to undergo a physical\nor mental examination by a person designated by the panel.\n(2) Failure of a physician assistant to submit to  such an examination when directed,\nunless the failure is due to circumstances beyond his or her control, shall constitute\nan admission that the concerned physician assistant has developed such a physical\nor mental disability, or other condition, that cont inued practice is dangerous to\npatients or to the public; said failure shall constitute a default and a final order may\nbe entered without the taking of testimony or presentation of evidence.\n(3) A physician assistant whose license has been suspended, limi ted, restricted, or\nrevoked under this section and KRS 311.850, shall at reasonable intervals be\nafforded an opportunity to demonstrate that he or she can resume the competent\npractice of medicine with reasonable skill and safety to patients.","path":["KRS Chapter 311"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50102","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:07Z","sha256":"0eeb294aad560afc4b747f9db38139b7f15764ac029e2d2dd58ac13dc7a8e155","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-311.850","next":"us-ky/krs-311.852"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
