{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-311.868","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 311.868","heading":"Advisory Committee for Surgical Assistants.","body":"(1) The Advisory Committee for Surgical Assistants shall be a committee of six (6)\nmembers appointed by the board and whose duties shall be delegated by the board.\nDuties shall include those cited in KRS 311.876. The members of the committee\nshall be:\n(a) Three (3) practicing surgical assistants who have at least five (5) years of\nclinical experience as surgical assistants;\n(b) Two (2) physicians licensed in the Commonwealth who supervise surgical\nassistants; and\n(c) One (1) registered perioperative nurse with at least five (5) years of clinical\nexperience as a perioperative nurse.\n(2) Members of the committee are appointed for two (2) year terms and may not serve\nmore than two (2) consecutive full terms. The board may determine the rotation of\nthe membership.\n(3) The president shall designate biennially a committee member to be the presiding\nofficer to serve at the will of the president.\n(4) Members shall not be entitled to per diem, travel, or other expenses and shall have\nno authority to determine policy independent of the board.\n(5) Meetings shall be held quarterly and may be held on -line or by telephone\nconference call.\n(6) Vacancies shall be filled with appointees selected by the president.\n(7) A person may not be a member of the committee if:\n(a) The person  is an officer, employee, or paid consultant of a Kentucky trade\nassociation in the field of surgical assisting;\n(b) The person's spouse is an officer, manager, or paid consultant of a Kentucky\ntrade association in the field of surgical assisting;\n(c) The person is a registered lobbyist for compensation on behalf of a profession\nrelated to the field of surgical assisting; or\n(d) The person is presently subject to a disciplinary order issued by their licensing\nor certifying body.","path":["KRS Chapter 311"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=30662","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:07Z","sha256":"4731cb1df92c72a07fc5f558297ad41f4cfd59e75950cda1dd84e770b4c3c08d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-311.867","next":"us-ky/krs-311.870"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
