{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-311.870","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 311.870","heading":"Administrative regulations and records.","body":"(1) The board, with any committee assistance requested by the board, may promulgate\nadministrative regulations in accordance with the provisions of KRS Chapter 13A\nto implement the provisions of KRS 311.864 to 311.890 as follows:\n(a) Establish qualifications for a surgical assistant to practice in this state;\n(b) Establish requirements for an examination and develop an application to\ncertify a surgical assistant to practice;\n(c) Establish minimum education and training requirements necessary for a\ncertificate to practice as a surgical assistant;\n(d) Develop an approved program of mandatory continuing education and the\nmanner in which attendance at all approved courses, clinics, forums, lectures,\nprograms, or seminars is monitored and recorded;\n(e) Accept the con tinuing education rules and guidelines of the Association of\nSurgical Technologists or other national association of surgical assisting that\ndevelops continuing education guidelines;\n(f) Establish reasonable and necessary fees for the application, examinat ion,\ninitial certificate, renewal certificate, and other fees necessary to implement\nKRS 311.864 to 311.890; and\n(g) Identify the surgical assistant's scope of practice citing appropriate medical\ntasks, and define the delegating physician's oversight responsibilities.\n(2) The board shall maintain a record for each certificate holder that contains\ninformation determined by the board.
