{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-311a.125","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 311A.125","heading":"Continuing competence -- Education courses.","body":"(1) For each licensure renewal of a paramedic following the issuance of an initial\nlicense or certification by the board, as a prerequisite for license or certification\nrenewal, all individuals licensed under the provisions of this chapter shall be\nrequired to document continuing competence during the immediate past licensure or\ncertification period as prescribed in administrative regulations promulgated by the\nboard.\n(2) The board shall approve providers of emergency medical services education and\ncontinuing education. The approval may include recognition of providers approved\nby national organizations and state boards of emergency medical services with\ncomparable standards. Standards for these approvals shall be set forth by the board\nin administrative regulat ions promulgated in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A.\nThe board need not approve continuing education training provided by a licensed\nambulance service for anyone certified or licensed by the board.\n(3) The board shall work cooperatively with professional e mergency medical services\norganizations, approved schools, and other potential sources of continuing\neducation programs to ensure that adequate continuing education offerings are\navailable statewide.
