{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-311a.195","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 311A.195","heading":"Administration of epinephrine -- Supply of epinephrine and needles --","body":"Medical protocols.\n(1) Any emergency medical technician and any paramedic shall be authorized to\nadminister epinephrine to any person whom the EMT or paramedic has been called\nto attend if the EMT or paramedic makes an assessment that the person is exhibiting\nsymptoms consistent with an anaphylactic reaction. The EMT or paramedic shall\nfollow the medical protocol established by the medical director of the employing\nlicensed ambulanc e service in determining the appropriate dose or doses of\nepinephrine and the routes for administration.\n(2) Every ambulance provider in the Commonwealth shall:\n(a) Maintain an adequate supply of epinephrine and disposable sterile needles and\nsyringes on every ambulance that it operates; and\n(b) Establish medical protocols to be used by EMT providers and paramedics in\ndetermining symptoms of an anaphylactic reaction, the appropriate dose or\ndoses of epinephrine, and the routes for administration.","path":["KRS Chapter 311A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=30756","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:08Z","sha256":"15d3acb6c4a11f7e24f19137697fddebabfbccec3c52b92801579240aa1e7407","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-311a.190","next":"us-ky/krs-311a.200"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
