{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-311a.200","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 311A.200","heading":"Limited certification or license issued to felon in correctional institution -","body":"- Penalties.\n(1) The provisions of KRS 311A.050 relating to the certification and licensure of a\nfelon as a first responder, emergency medical technician, or paramedic to t he\ncontrary notwithstanding, the board may issue a limited certification as a first\nresponder or emergency medical technician or a limited license as a paramedic to a\nconvicted felon who is currently serving a sentence for a felony and is in a facility\noperated by or under contract to the Department of Corrections.\n(2) A felon with a limited certification or license shall be limited to performing his or\nher services only upon other inmates, visitors, or staff of an institution operated by\nor under contract to the Department of Corrections.\n(3) Upon release by expiration of sentence, probation, shock probation, parole, or other\nform of early release or upon the escape of the inmate from confinement the license\nor certification shall automatically terminate. I f the inmate has escaped from\nconfinement he or she shall never be issued a future limited certification or license.\n(4) All other provisions of this chapter relating to first responders, emergency medical\ntechnicians, paramedics, and their employment and supervision shall apply to\nconvicted felons with a limited license or certification.\n(5) An inmate who violates the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a Class D\nfelony.","path":["KRS Chapter 311A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=30757","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:08Z","sha256":"6966feb187ba7d63deea8b87e91de34c78f8e9ee79ff4ce2402658e4c929eb40","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-311a.195","next":"us-ky/krs-311b.010"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
