{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-312.017","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 312.017","heading":"Types of treatment prohibited -- Scope and methods of chiropractic","body":"treatment -- Referral of patients.\n(1) No chiropractor shall:\n(a) Treat or attempt to treat contagious or communicable diseases;\n(b) Treat or attempt to treat cancer;\n(c) Treat by use of x-ray or radiological methods;\n(d) Perform surgery;\n(e) Treat or attempt to treat by use of acupuncture; or\n(f) Administer prescription drugs or controlled substances.\n(2) Subject to the limitations in this chapter, a chiropractor shall examine, diagnos e and\ntreat the human body within the scope of chiropractic as defined in this section and\nKRS 312.015 and by methods taught in accredited chiropractic colleges as stated in\nKRS 312.085. A chiropractor may refer a patient to a physician, licensed medical\nlaboratory or licensed health facility for testing or examination to aid in differential\ndiagnosis or treatment. However, nothing contained herein shall require any\nlicensed health care provider to accept such a referral.\n(3) No chiropractor shall otherwise  treat a patient for any disorder or by any method\nexcept as provided in this chapter.
