{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-312.175","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 312.175","heading":"Annual renewal of licenses -- Educational requirements -- Renewal notices","body":"to licensees -- Failure to renew -- Restoration of licenses.\n(1) Each person licensed to practice chiropractic in this state shall, on or before the first\nday of March, annual ly renew his license and pay a renewal fee of not more than\none hundred dollars ($100) for each inactive licensee and not more than five\nhundred dollars ($500) for each active licensee each year to the board. In addition to\nthe payment of the renewal fee, the active licensee applying for a license renewal\nshall furnish to the board satisfactory evidence that he has attended an educational\nprogram in the year preceding each application for renewal. Satisfactory evidence of\nattendance of postgraduate study at  an institution approved by the board shall be\nconsidered equivalent. Provided, however, that licenses may be renewed by the\nboard, at its discretion, and the applicant may be excused from paying the renewal\nfee or attending the annual educational program,  or both, in instances where the\napplicant submits an affidavit to the board evidencing that he, for good cause\nassigned, suffered a hardship which prevented the applicant from renewing the\nlicense or attending the educational program at the proper time.\n(2) The board shall send a written notice to every person holding a valid license to\npractice chiropractic within this state at least forty -five (45) days prior to the first\nday of March in each year, directed to the last known address of the licensee, and\nshall enclose with the notice proper blank forms for application for annual license\nrenewal. The board shall, within forty -five (45) days, notify every person failing to\nrenew his license after it is due that he is delinquent and is subject to a late penal ty\nof three hundred dollars ($300). If the licensee fails to renew his license within\nforty-five (45) days after the mailing of the delinquent notice then his license shall\nbe revoked for nonrenewal. Any licensee whose license has been revoked for failure\nto renew his license may have his license restored upon the payment of a restoration\nfee not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500) for each delinquent year or any part\nthereof in addition to the renewal fee of not more than five hundred dollars ($500)\nand upon presentation of satisfactory evidence of postgraduate study of a standard\napproved by the state board or upon a showing that he is an exception as provided\nfor in subsection (1) of this section.\n(3) Any licensee whose license has been revoked for less  than four (4) years, may not\napply for a license pursuant to KRS 312.085. The licensee may only apply for\nrestoration pursuant to subsection (2) of this section.\n(4) Any licensee whose license has been revoked for more than four (4) years may\napply for a license by examination, as long as the licensee pays a restoration fee not\nto exceed five hundred dollars ($500) for each delinquent year, or any part thereof,\nin addition to the renewal fee of not less than five hundred dollars ($500) and not\nmore than three thousand dollars ($3,000).","path":["KRS Chapter 312"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=44617","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:09Z","sha256":"9229002236b3205ee1384a772e9f2a563c0b8724053b378e77ed0ea77312935f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-312.170","next":"us-ky/krs-312.180"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
