{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-313.550","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 313.550","heading":"Dental laboratories -- Employees -- Prohibitions.","body":"(1) A dental laboratory operating or doing business in Kentucky shall employ at least\none (1) of the following:\n(a) A certified dental technician who shall supervise all work performed in\naccordance with a written laboratory procedure work order issued by a de ntist\nlicensed pursuant to this chapter; or\n(b) A dentist licensed under to this chapter.\n(2) A dentist shall not use the services of any dental laboratory to construct, alter,\nrepair, or duplicate any denture, plate, bridge, splint, orthodontic, or prosth etic\nappliance, without first furnishing the commercial dental laboratory a written\nprocedure work order. Both the commercial dental laboratory and the dentist\nproducing the work order shall keep a copy on file for two (2) years, and all\nlaboratory procedu re work orders required by this subsection shall be open to\ninspection by the board.\n(3) A dental laboratory that employs or contracts with a dentist licensed under this\nchapter may construct, alter, repair, or duplicate any denture, plate, bridge, splint,\northodontic, or prosthetic appliance without a work order from a referring dentist if\nthe patient is seen, evaluated, or has his or her care supervised by the referring\ndentist.","path":["KRS Chapter 313"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56887","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:10Z","sha256":"d43362b7e44edbb148ab4f79ce4efdbe05c05947423c22f85ddb5d3a060e8226","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-313.540","next":"us-ky/krs-313.600"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
