{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-314.414","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 314.414","heading":"Transfer Guidelines Work Group established as independent entity --","body":"Objectives and scope of work group -- Members -- Board to promulgate\nadministrative regulations to implement requirements developed by work\ngroup -- Work group's existence only temporary.\nThe Transfer Guidelines Work Group is hereby established as an independent entity to\ndevelop statewide requirements for licensed certified professional midwives and hospitals\nwhich shall be based upon evidence in peer-reviewed medical literature and accepted best\npractice standards, regarding the process of transfer of care from a licensed certified\nprofessional midwife to a hospital. The scope of the Transfer Guidelines Work Group\nshall include procedures that promote the safe and timely transfer of mothers or newborns\nto facilities that can provide a higher level of care when needed, and to ensure the\ncomplete and timely transmission of all necessary information required to satisfactorily\ncare for a mother or newborn requiring transfer. The wor k group shall select a chair from\namong the members. The work group shall meet as necessary and submit the developed\nstatewide requirements agreed to unanimously by the work group to the board within one\n(1) year of June 27, 2019. The board shall promulgat e administrative regulations to\nimplement the requirements developed by the work group. The work group shall cease to\nexist after the developed requirements have been submitted to the board unless the board\ndirects its continuance. The members of the work group shall not be paid or reimbursed\nfor travel or other expenses. The work group shall consist of the following members:\n(1) Two (2) individuals to be appointed by the Kentucky Hospital Association;\n(2) Three (3) individuals appointed by the Kentucky Cha pter of the National\nAssociation of Certified Professional Midwives;\n(3) Two (2) individuals appointed by the Kentucky Medical Association who have\nexpertise in obstetrical or neonatal care;\n(4) One (1) individual appointed by the Kentucky Home Birth Coalition; and\n(5) One (1) member of the board who shall be a nonvoting, ex officio member and who\nshall serve as the liaison between the work group chair and the board.","path":["KRS Chapter 314"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48880","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:11Z","sha256":"3974a36b17441462629adfa914e10dab1dcbcf09e99af794a74634b20f476080","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-314.412","next":"us-ky/krs-314.416"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
