{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-315.220","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 315.220","heading":"Powers of representatives of board.","body":"(1) For the purpose of enforcing the provisions of this chapter, officers, agents, and\ninspectors of the board shall have the power and authority to:\n(a) Administer oaths;\n(b) Enter upon premises of all facilities issued a permit or license by the board, at\nall reasonable times for the purpose of:\n1. Making inspections and carrying out the provisions of this chapter;\n2. Conducting investigations;\n3. Requiring production of books, papers, documents, records, or other\nevidence for inspection or copying;\n4. Seizing evidence; or\n5. Securing oral or written statements;\n(c) Employ special investigators;\n(d) Expend funds for the purpose of obtaining evidence; and\n(e) Issue subpoenas.\n(2) As used in subsection (1) of this section, \"records\" includes, but is not limited to,\npatient records.\n(3) Any decision to inspect, copy, or seize books, papers, documents, records, or other\nevidence shall be at the discretion of the officer, agent, or inspector of the board.\n(4) Inspection, copying, or seizure of books, papers, documents, records, or other\nevidence does not affect the confidential nature of those records, and the board shall\nmaintain the records so as to protect the confidentiality of the records.","path":["KRS Chapter 315"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=40290","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:12Z","sha256":"de2ca6d18bb4327e2f25e77d685ca9ff1de41d53ea584224548b624b1947bc28","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-315.210","next":"us-ky/krs-315.230"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
