{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-316.125","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 316.125","heading":"Funeral establishment license -- Application -- Fee -- Each funeral","body":"establishment to be licensed separately -- Supervision.\n(1) No person shall operate a full -service funeral establishment, a visitation and\nceremonial funeral service establishment, or an embalming service establishment in\nthe Commonwealth of Kentucky without first obtaining the applicable\nestablishment license issued by the board.\n(2) The board shall issue the appropriate establishment license to an applicant who:\n(a) Has paid to the board an establishment license fee as set out in administrative\nregulations promulgated by the board; and\n(b) Has filed with the board a sworn statement that sets out the following:\n1. Name of the funeral establishment;\n2. Address of the funeral establishment;\n3. Type of funeral establishment;\n4. Owners of the funeral establishment, indicating which owners are\nlicensed by the board; and\n5. Name and address of the Kentucky -licensed embalmer or the Kentucky-\nlicensed funeral director who will supervise  the funeral establishment\npursuant to subsection (4) of this section.\n(3) Each funeral establishment shall be licensed separately from any other funeral\nestablishment.\n(4) Each funeral establishment, when in use, shall be under the supervision of a\nKentucky-licensed embalmer or a Kentucky-licensed funeral director.\n(5) A Kentucky -licensed embalmer or a Kentucky -licensed funeral director shall not\nsupervise more than one (1) funeral establishment at the same time.\n(6) The funeral establishment shall display in a public place in the establishment its\nestablishment license and the license of the embalmer or funeral director who\nsupervises the establishment pursuant to subsection (4) of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 316"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50923","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:12Z","sha256":"c0154af53ce322cb842b3696f362249b1a3639580a2a2e0364b01e3ee442ac73","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-316.120","next":"us-ky/krs-316.127"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
