{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-316.170","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 316.170","heading":"Kentucky Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors -- Membership --","body":"Qualifications -- Compensation -- Meetings.\n(1) The board shall consist of five (5) members who shall be residents of the\nCommonwealth of Kentucky. Four (4) members shall be K entucky-licensed\nembalmers and Kentucky -licensed funeral directors actively practicing embalming\nand funeral directing in a Kentucky funeral establishment and shall have a\nminimum of ten (10) years' consecutive experience in the practice of embalming\nand funeral directing in Kentucky immediately preceding their appointment. One (1)\nmember shall be a citizen at large who is not associated with or financially\ninterested in the practice or business regulated.\n(2) The Governor shall make all appointments to the  board. The four (4) embalmer and\nfuneral director members shall be appointed from a list of three (3) names submitted\nby the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky and from a list of three (3) names\nsubmitted by the Kentucky Association of Morticians, Inc., for each position to be\nfilled.\n(3) The term of each member shall be four (4) years. Each member shall serve until a\nsuccessor is appointed and qualified.\n(4) Vacancies on the board shall be filled in the same manner for the unexpired terms.\n(5) Each board member shall receive compensation as set forth in administrative\nregulation, not to exceed two hundred dollars ($200) for each day of service actually\ngiven in carrying out the board's duties and shall be reimbursed for necessary\ntraveling expenses and other necessary expenses incurred in attending board\nmeetings and carrying out the board's duties.\n(6) The board shall elect annually a president from its members.\n(7) The board shall meet as often as necessary to discharge its duties, but not less tha n\nonce a year.\n(8) Three (3) members shall constitute a quorum.","path":["KRS Chapter 316"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50925","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:12Z","sha256":"60939d10776609f88864b5448e3386e85f7e9cfd08315d91a58aa0cb20621be6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-316.165","next":"us-ky/krs-316.180"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
