{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-317a.120","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 317A.120","heading":"Examinations by board.","body":"(1) Examinations given by the board shall cover all phases of qualifications for the\nlicense applied for including skill and technique of applicant as well as scientific\nand other knowledge. National exams may be used if approved by the board.\n(2) Examinations shall be given by trained proctors.\n(3) Examinations shall be given at regularly prescribed intervals.\n(4) Examinations shall be given at locations that have been approved by the board.\n(5) An applicant who fails a written theory test or an oral practica l demonstration shall\nbe eligible to retake that portion after one (1) month has passed from the date the\napplicant received actual notice of the failure.\n(6) A cosmetologist, nail technician, limited stylist, esthetician, or instructor applicant\nmay retake any examination an unlimited number of times until the applicant passes\nthat examination.","path":["KRS Chapter 317A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56213","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:14Z","sha256":"832bb0000c530d5da1dc40f78e8437d3b8af4cc2f0a4056e04dd51ca7a4a2749","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-317a.110","next":"us-ky/krs-317a.130"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
