{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-317a.130","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 317A.130","heading":"Sanitation requirements and prohibited practices -- Practices under","body":"supervision of physician.\n(1) No licensee shall:\n(a) Fail to provide the head rest of each chair with a relaundered towel or a sheet\nof clean paper for each person;\n(b) Fail to place around the patron's neck a strip of cotton, towel, or neck strip so\nthat the haircloth does not come in contact with the patron's skin;\n(c) Use on one (1) patron a towel that has been used upon another patron, unless\nthe towel has been relaundered;\n(d) Use on any patron any razor, scissors, tweezers, comb, bowl, recirculating\npipes, rubber disc, or part of a vibrator or other similar equipment or\nappliance that comes into contact with the head, face, hands, feet, or neck of a\npatron, until the equipment or appliance has been sterilized in accordance with\nmethods of sterilization that are bacteriologically effective and approved by\nthe Cabinet for Health and Family Services; or\n(e) Use on any patron a liquid nail enhancement product containing mon omeric\nmethyl methacrylate, also known as dental acrylic monomer, for the purpose\nof creating artificial nail enhancements in the practice of cosmetology and nail\ntechnology.\n(2) No esthetician practicing under this chapter shall perform any of the followi ng\nunless practicing under the immediate supervision of a licensed physician:\n(a) Botox or collagen injections;\n(b) Laser treatments;\n(c) Electrolysis;\n(d) Tattoo;\n(e) Permanent makeup;\n(f) Microblading; or\n(g) Piercing.","path":["KRS Chapter 317A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56214","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:14Z","sha256":"246ed3a3c44db3f7f8ffb367c5397589684f0289f763d16c41045734f1df6d8c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-317a.120","next":"us-ky/krs-317a.140"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
