{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-319.064","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 319.064","heading":"Licensed psychological associate.","body":"(1) An individual credentialed as a psychological associate shall use the title \"licensed\npsychological associate\" and the board shall issue a license with that title at the time\nof renewal.\n(2) The board shall issue a license to perform certain functions with in the practice of\npsychology and to use the title \"licensed psychological associate\" to any applicant\nwho:\n(a) Pays a fee not to exceed three hundred dollars ($300);\n(b) Has received:\n1. A master's degree in psychology acceptable to the board; or\n2. The e quivalent education for a master's degree and has been accepted\ninto a psychology predoctoral internship program in Kentucky that\nsatisfies the criteria for the predoctoral internship established by the\nboard;\nfrom a regionally accredited educational inst itution or from an educational\ninstitution outside the United States, if such educational institution would\notherwise be accredited by a regional accrediting body if located in the United\nStates; and\n(c) Has passed an examination procedure in psychology.\n(3) Upon acceptance of the application to sit for the examination in psychology, the\napplicant may practice psychology under the supervision of a licensed psychologist\nunder conditions of temporary licensure established by the board. The board shall\nestablish a grace period not to exceed one hundred eighty (180) days to allow for\nthe employment and supervision of the applicant by an agency from the time the\napplicant's degree requirements are completed to the submission of the complete\napplication.\n(4) The board shall grade and keep the examinations and results for one (1) year. Upon\nwritten request to the board, an applicant may arrange to discuss his or her\nperformance on the examination.\n(5) Any psychological associate licensed pursuant to this section ma y perform certain\nfunctions within the practice of psychology only under the supervision of a licensed\npsychologist approved by the board. The licensed psychological associate shall not\npractice independently, except under the employment and supervision of  the board-\napproved licensed psychologist. A licensed psychological associate shall not\nrepresent himself or herself as a licensed or certified psychologist or as a licensed\npsychological practitioner.
