{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-319c.080","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 319C.080","heading":"Application for license as licensed behavior analyst or licensed assistant","body":"behavior analyst -- Temporary license -- Duties of certification board.\n(1) A person applying for a license as a licensed behavior analyst shall apply to the\nboard upon s uch form and in such manner as the board shall prescribe and shall\nfurnish evidence to the board that such person:\n(a) Has met the education requirements of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst\n(BCBA)® standards, has passed the Board Certified Behavior Ana lyst\n(BCBA)® examination, and is credentialed as a behavior analyst by the\ncertification board;\n(b) Maintains active status and fulfills all requirements for renewal and\nrecertification with the certification board as a Board Certified Behavior\nAnalyst (BCBA)®;\n(c) Conducts his or her professional activities in accordance with accepted\nstandards as required by administrative regulations promulgated by the board\nin accordance with KRS 319C.050(1); and\n(d) Complies with all applicable administrative regulatio ns promulgated by the\nboard.\n(2) A person applying for a license as a licensed assistant behavior analyst shall make\napplication to the board upon such form and in such manner as the board shall\nprescribe by administrative regulation and shall furnish evid ence to the board that\nsuch person:\n(a) Has met the education requirements of the Board Certified Assistant Behavior\nAnalyst (BCaBA)® standards, has passed the BCaBA® examination, and is\ncredentialed as an assistant behavior analyst by the certification board;\n(b) Maintains active status and fulfills all requirements for renewal and\nrecertification with the certification board as a Board Certified Assistant\nBehavior Analyst®;\n(c) Conducts his or her professional activities in accordance with accepted\nstandards as required by administrative regulations promulgated by the board\nin accordance with KRS 319C.050(1);\n(d) Complies with all applicable administrative regulations promulgated by the\nboard; and\n(e) Is supervised by a certified behavior analyst in a mann er consistent with the\ncertification board requirements for supervision of Board Certified Assistant\nBehavior Analysts®.\n(3) A person applying for a temporary license to complete his or her experience\nrequirement shall make application to the board upon such form and in such manner\nas the board shall prescribe by administrative regulation and shall furnish evidence\nto the board that he or she:\n(a) Has met the coursework requirements for a Board Certified Behavior\nAnalyst® or Board Certified Assistant Behavi or Analyst® and will begin\naccumulating experience as required by the certification board; and\n(b) Will comply with the provisions of this chapter and the requirements of the\ncertification board during the period of temporary licensure.\n(4) If the certification board ceases certification of practitioners of applied behavior\nanalysis, the board shall:\n(a) Approve a successor entity to the certification board; or\n(b) Establish a certification process by administrative regulation and approve an\nexamination for behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts and\nestablish standards for acceptable performance.","path":["KRS Chapter 319C"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31299","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:15Z","sha256":"8d0e7d131a0ee61c76d43750e4358fa090648544007ed05451d86c75bc564609","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-319c.070","next":"us-ky/krs-319c.090"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
