{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-320.230","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 320.230","heading":"Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners -- Appointment --","body":"Qualifications -- Vacancies -- Quorum -- Compensation.\n(1) The Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners shall consist of five (5) members\nappointed by the Governor. Four (4) members shall be Kentucky licensed practicing\noptometrists whose licenses are in good standing and who are appointed by the\nGovernor from a list containing three (3) names for each appointment recommended\nby the Kentucky Optometric Association. One (1) member shall be a citizen at large\nwho is not associated with or financially interested in the practice or business\nregulated. The members shall serve for a term of four (4) years and until their\nsuccessors are appointed and qualified. They shall receive per diem compensation\nto b e determined by administrative regulations promulgated by the board, not to\nexceed one hundred twenty -five dollars ($125) per day for attending board\nmeetings. Members shall be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in the\nperformance of their duties under this chapter.\n(2) Each optometrist member shall be a Kentucky licensed practicing optometrist in\ngood standing for not less than five (5) years immediately preceding his or her\nappointment to the board. The member shall not be in any way connected with o r\ninterested in any optometric school, college, or institution of learning or optometric\nsupply business.\n(3) Any vacancy occurring on the board as the result of a member not completing the\nterm for which he or she was appointed shall be filled, for the unexpired term, in the\nsame manner as is provided in subsection (1) of this section for the appointment of\nmembers.\n(4) A majority of the members of the board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction\nof business.","path":["KRS Chapter 320"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31329","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:16Z","sha256":"fbd9b307df4a1f68f46362409e27dd2ba8e6b4cffac04d2d2ac635f57a07a1b8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-320.220","next":"us-ky/krs-320.240"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
