{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-320.270","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 320.270","heading":"Licensing by endorsement of persons from other states.","body":"The board may license by endorsement an optometrist who holds a valid license that was\nobtained by examination from another state or territory of the United States if the\napplicant for licensure by endorsement:\n(1) Has engaged in the active practice of opt ometry for at least five (5) years\nimmediately preceding his or her application for licensure;\n(2) Has not committed any act that would constitute a violation of this chapter and the\nadministrative regulations promulgated under this chapter and is not the subject of\nany pending or unresolved board action or malpractice suit in this or any other state\nor territory;\n(3) Meets all of the qualifications for regular state licensure as set forth by the board;\nand\n(4) Has completed and submitted an application for  licensure by endorsement to the\nboard, submitted a nonrefundable fee to be determined by the board in\nadministrative regulations of no more than seven hundred dollars ($700), and has\nauthorized any state in which the applicant is licensed to submit inform ation to the\nboard indicating whether or not the applicant is in good standing with the respective\nstate's licensing board.","path":["KRS Chapter 320"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31335","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:16Z","sha256":"17665fe44c08ae2ecf8efd9b7c90db6d12eb7084421a0234c04ba863c66ecd61","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-320.260","next":"us-ky/krs-320.280"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
