{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-321.221","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 321.221","heading":"Requirements for a credential by endorsement for individuals licensed in","body":"other jurisdictions.\n(1) The board may issue a credential by endorsement to any applicant who, upon\nsubmitting a completed application to the board and remitting a fee e stablished in\nadministrative regulation, demonstrates to the board that the applicant has met the\nfollowing requirements:\n(a) The applicant is a graduate of an approved veterinary medical program,\napproved veterinary technology program, or other educationa l program\napproved by the board as appropriate to the board credential;\n(b) The applicant is of good moral character. As one (1) element of good moral\ncharacter, the board shall require each applicant to submit a full set of\nfingerprints for the purpose of  obtaining criminal records checks, pursuant to\napplicable law. All good moral character information, including the\ninformation obtained through the criminal background checks, shall be\nrelevant to credential eligibility determinations to the extent permitted by law;\n(c) The applicant holds a valid credential to practice veterinary medicine,\nveterinary technology, animal euthanasia, or an allied animal health\nprofession and has engaged in the practice in another state, the District of\nColumbia, a territory of the United States, or a province of Canada for at least\none (1) year immediately preceding application, if the requirements for\ncredentialing in the issuing state or province are equal to or higher than the\nstandards required for the issuance of a new credential under the provisions of\nthis chapter;\n(d) The applicant has passed an examination given by the board on the laws and\nadministrative regulations of the Commonwealth as required in administrative\nregulations promulgated in accordance with KRS Chapt er 13A under the\nprovisions of this chapter; and\n(e) The applicant has been approved for a credential by the board.\n(2) The board shall not issue a credential by endorsement to any applicant who is under\ninvestigation in another state, territory, the Distr ict of Columbia, a Canadian\nprovince, or any jurisdiction for an act which could result in disciplinary action in\nthat jurisdiction until the investigation and disciplinary proceedings have been\ncompleted.","path":["KRS Chapter 321"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53939","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:16Z","sha256":"6fa92e044871b10e52b458234b9e2b976c451d7319c72611c513f5bc9c5af92a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-321.220","next":"us-ky/krs-321.230"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
