{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-321.442","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 321.442","heading":"Renewal of veterinary technician license.","body":"(1) Each person who is licensed as a veterinary technician shall submit a completed\nrenewal application by the renewal deadline and pay to the board an annual renewal\nfee for the renewal of the person's license.\n(2) A sixty (60) day grace period shall be allow ed after the renewal deadline, during\nwhich time individuals may renew their licenses upon submission of a completed\nrenewal application and payment of the renewal fee and a late fee to the board. All\nlicenses not renewed by the grace period deadline shall  expire based on the failure\nof the individual to renew in a timely manner. Upon expiration, the veterinary\ntechnician licensee is no longer eligible to practice in the Commonwealth.\n(3) After the sixty (60) day grace period, individuals with an expired ve terinary\ntechnician license may have their licenses reinstated upon submission of a\ncompleted reinstatement application and payment of a reinstatement fee to the\nboard. No person who applies for reinstatement after expiration of the person's\nlicense shall be required to submit to an examination as a condition for\nreinstatement if a reinstatement application is made within five (5) years from the\ndate of expiration.\n(4) A suspended license is subject to expiration and termination and shall be renewed\nas provided in this chapter. Renewal or reinstatement shall not entitle the licensee to\nengage in the practice until the suspension has ended or is otherwise removed by\nthe board and the right to practice is restored by the board.\n(5) A revoked license is subject to expiration or termination but may not be renewed. If\nit is reinstated, the licensee shall pay the reinstatement fee.\n(6) A person who fails to reinstate a license within five (5) years after its expiration or\ntermination may not have it renewed, restor ed, reissued, or reinstated. A person\nmay apply for and obtain a new license by meeting the requirements of this chapter.\n(7) The board may require that a person applying for renewal or reinstatement of\nlicensure show evidence of completion of continuing e ducation as established in\nadministrative regulations promulgated in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A.\n(8) The board may grant retired or inactive licensure status and may establish\nconditions under which retired or inactive licenses may be renewed as estab lished\nin administrative regulations promulgated in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A.","path":["KRS Chapter 321"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53925","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:17Z","sha256":"e9654f1206da7a150e43c1756dec71562788a15dd29ca770936910ba57adf96a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-321.441","next":"us-ky/krs-321.443"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
