{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-322.250","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 322.250","heading":"Appointment of board members -- Vacancies.","body":"(1) Except as provided for in subsection (5) of this section, each land surveyor\nappointment to the board shall be made from a list of not less than three (3)\nnominees to be submitted to the Governor jointly by the Kentucky Society of\nProfessional Engineers an d the Kentucky Association of Professional Surveyors,\nwith input from other professional societies. All other appointments to the board\nshall be made from a list of not less than three (3) nominees to be submitted to the\nGovernor by the Kentucky Society of  Professional Engineers with input from other\nprofessional societies.\n(2) The nominations shall be submitted to the Governor at least sixty (60) days prior to\nthe appointment date.\n(3) The term of office for all full-term appointments shall begin January 1.\n(4) Board members shall be allowed to succeed themselves but shall be limited to not\nmore than two (2) consecutive terms. A former member may be reappointed to the\nboard if the member has not served in the preceding four (4) years.\n(5) If a vacancy on th e board occurs for any reason resulting in an unexpired term, if\nnot filled within three (3) months by official action of the Governor, the board may\nappoint a provisional member to serve in the interim until the Governor acts.\n(6) Every unexpired term shall be filled only for the remainder of that term.","path":["KRS Chapter 322"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31444","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:17Z","sha256":"08ad26b8d7d889cdbc45ae937fd39e1ea2c7962b380b5ea844b47d9a3b4b6f8f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-322.240","next":"us-ky/krs-322.260"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
