{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-322.394","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 322.394","heading":"Duties of board relating to scholarship fund -- Written contract between","body":"board and recipient.\n(1) The board shall make engineering and land surveying scholarships available to\nKentucky residents through the Kentucky professional engineer and professional\nland surveyor incentive scholarship fund established in KRS 322.392 in accordance\nwith KRS 322.390 to 322.395 and administrative regulations promulgated pursuant\nto KRS Chapter 13A.\n(2) The board shall administer the Kentucky professional engi neer and professional\nland surveyor incentive scholarship fund and may recover reasonable costs for\nadministering the fund. The board shall receive and evaluate all applications for the\nscholarship made by bona fide Kentucky residents who desire to become\nprofessional engineers or professional land surveyors. The board shall evaluate each\napplication to determine if the applicant complies with criteria for the scholarships\nas set forth in this section and in the administrative regulations of the board.\n(3) From among the qualified applications, the board shall designate the persons to\nreceive assistance and the amount of the scholarship award. The board's scholarship\ndecisions shall be final. Disbursement of funds shall occur pursuant to a written\ncontract between the board and the applicant.\n(4) The board shall annually determine the amount and number of individual\nprofessional engineering and professional land surveying scholarship awards to be\ngranted by using its best judgment and shall seek to maintain t he scholarship funds\nfor future use.\n(5) Each recipient of a scholarship granted under KRS 322.390 to 322.395 shall agree\nin the written contract to:\n(a) Obtain a professional engineer or professional land surveyor license in\nKentucky within six (6) years of graduation; and\n(b) Engage in the licensed practice of professional engineering or professional\nland surveying in Kentucky for at least one (1) year for each academic year\nthe recipient received the scholarship funds.","path":["KRS Chapter 322"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57227","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:17Z","sha256":"7b0ecedc502f180950893cddfcfd9ef6b85aebb59d45f1d52aaf47bc26ec5fa2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-322.392","next":"us-ky/krs-322.395"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
