{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-323.210","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 323.210","heading":"Functions of board -- Authority for administrative regulations --","body":"Continuing education requirement may be established.\n(1) The board shall:\n(a) Adopt and provide itself with a seal with a band inscribed, \"Kentucky Board\nof Architects\" with the coat of arms of the state in the center;\n(b) Promulgate all necessary administrative regulations concerning the contents\nand conduct of examinations, the method and time for filing applications for\nexaminations, and the time within which an applicant shall be exa mined after\nhis application has been filed;\n(c) Keep a complete record of its proceedings and an accurate list of all\napplications made, licenses issued, and licenses revoked; and\n(d) Make a general report including finances to the governor annually.\n(2) The board may promulgate all reasonable administrative regulations not\ninconsistent with this chapter that are necessary to carry into effect the purposes of\nthis chapter.\n(3) (a) The board may promulgate appropriate administrative regulations requiring\nmandatory continuing education for architects licensed to practice within the\nCommonwealth as a condition for obtaining their annual renewal certificates.\nThe board shall establish the minimal requirement for obtaining and reporting\ncontinuing education, the means by which any requirements shall be enforced,\nand the criteria for the accreditation of course sponsors, programs, and other\nactivities.\n(b) The board may promulgate appropriate administrative regulations to create the\nlicensing category of architect emeritus and may promulgate continuing\neducation requirements and renewal fees for the architect emeritus license.\n(4) The board may administer oaths, receive evidence, interview persons, issue\nsubpoenas, and require the production of books, papers, docume nts, or other\nevidence for the purpose of enforcing this chapter and investigating complaints or\nsuspected violations of this chapter.\n(5) The board may promulgate administrative regulations in accordance with KRS\nChapter 13A to establish rules for the use  of seals and signatures in electronic\ntransactions.\n(6) (a) The board may employ staff, obtain office space, and acquire furniture,\nsupplies, and services reasonably necessary to effectuate the purposes of this\nchapter.\n(b) The board shall outline the dut ies of all personnel and fix their compensation\nin accordance with KRS Chapter 18A.\n(c) The board may retain its own legal counsel for advice and assistance, in\naddition to such advice and assistance provided by the Attorney General.\n(7) The board may assess reasonable administrative fees for copies of documents,\nmailing lists, duplicate forms, and other media consistent with KRS 61.870 to\n61.884.","path":["KRS Chapter 323"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31504","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:18Z","sha256":"1a925677c91790ab227a8d18a58a6844aebdfbad6ff2a8cbf556c458621e5d57","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-323.200","next":"us-ky/krs-323.215"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
