{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-324a.020","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 324A.020","heading":"Powers and duties of board -- Executive director.","body":"(1) The board shall have authority to promulgate administrative regulations in\naccordance with KRS Chapter 13A, have subpoena power, hold disciplinary\nhearings, conduct examinations, conduct educational seminars that are not\napplicable to continuing education hours, investigate allegations of wrongdoing\nunder this chapter, seek and obtain injunctive relief to enforce the provisions of\nKRS 324A.010 to 324A.100, provide a list of certified appraisers to the Appraisal\nSubcommittee of the Federal Financial Institut ions Examination Council, and\nperform other functions and duties as may be necessary in carrying out KRS\n324A.010 to 324A.100.\n(2) (a) The board shall investigate every alleged violation of this chapter coming to\nits notice by the complaint procedure in KR S 324A.052 and shall take action\nas it deems appropriate within its authority under this chapter.\n(b) 1. The Attorney General, Commonwealth's attorneys, and county attorneys\nshall assist the board in all actions relating to violations of this chapter\nas requested by the board.\n2. The board may refer violations of this chapter to the Attorney General,\nCommonwealth's attorneys, and county attorneys to institute criminal or\ncivil proceedings in the name of the Commonwealth for a violation of\nthis chapter.\n(3) (a) The board may:\n1. Employ an executive director and any other persons it deems necessary\nto carry on the work of the board, and shall prescribe their duties and fix\ntheir salaries; and\n2. Obtain office space, utilities, furniture, supplies, and other go ods and\nservices as it deems necessary to carry on the work of the board.\n(b) Each executive director assumi ng office on or after July 15, 2026, shall be a\ncertified general or residential real property appraiser and shall not have less\nthan ten (10) years of experience as an appraiser within the Commonwealth.\n(4) The board may utilize hearing officers provided by the Attorney General's office in\naccordance with KRS 13B.030.\n(5) (a) The board or its authorized agents may give a licensed or certified appraiser\nadvice on best practices management.\n(b) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, lega l action shall\nnot arise from any advice given relating to best practices management by the\nboard or its authorized agents.","path":["KRS Chapter 324A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=58026","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:20Z","sha256":"7ab88426e637c32907429edf2bef6075f27754942906fc08ff62b37de974d82c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-324a.015","next":"us-ky/krs-324a.025"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
