{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-325.230","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 325.230","heading":"State Board of Accountancy -- Membership -- Appointment, qualifications,","body":"term, vacancies, removal, compensation.\n(1) There is hereby created a State Board of Accountancy. The board shall consist of\nseven (7) members, appointed by the Governor. Six (6)  of the members shall be\ncertified public accountants. One (1) of the members shall be a citizen at large who\nis not a certified public accountant. Members serving on the board as of July 15,\n1994, shall retain their appointments until their terms expire. Whenever an\nappointment is to be made, the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants\nshall submit to the Governor the names of three (3) persons for each vacancy to be\nfilled. All persons recommended shall be qualified for membership on the board,\nand the Governor shall appoint one (1) of the three (3) recommended. Members of\nthe board shall be citizens of the United States and residents of this state and the\ncertified public accountant members shall hold licenses to practice issued under the\nprovisions of this chapter. Of the new members appointed to the board, as provided\nby this section, one (1) member shall be appointed for a term of one (1) year and\none (1) member shall be appointed for a term of four (4) years from June 19, 1976.\nSucceeding appo intments to the board shall be for a term of four (4) years.\nVacancies occurring during a term shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired\nterm. Upon the expiration of his term of office, a member shall continue to serve\nuntil his successor shall have  been appointed and shall have qualified. The\nGovernor shall remove from the board any member whose license to practice is not\nrenewed or which has become void, revoked, or suspended, and may, after hearing,\nremove any member of the board for neglect of duty or other just cause.\n(2) Each member of the board shall be paid the amount established by an administrative\nregulation promulgated by the board, not to exceed two hundred dollars ($200) for\neach day spent in the discharge of his official duties, and shall be reimbursed for his\nactual and necessary expenses therein incurred.","path":["KRS Chapter 325"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31663","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:20Z","sha256":"726a671a2d0f84104533e8cf9dacd7b63cf93490adff33b1f6102b730c6ba9c0","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-325.220","next":"us-ky/krs-325.240"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
