{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-325.240","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 325.240","heading":"Officers of the board -- Administrative regulations -- Rules of professional","body":"conduct -- Quorum -- Seal -- Records -- Employees -- Expenditure of funds for\nprimary or secondary educational programs and scholarship programs -- Civil\nimmunity for discretionary acts.\n(1) The board shall elect annually a president and such other officers as it deems\nnecessary.\n(2) The board may promulgate, and amend from time to time, administrative\nregulations, in accordance with the provisions of KRS Chapter 13A,  for the orderly\nconduct of its affairs, for the administration of this chapter, and to establish and\nmaintain a high standard of integrity and dignity in the profession of public\naccounting.\n(3) A majority of the board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.\n(4) The board shall have a seal which shall be judicially noticed. The board shall keep\nrecords of its proceedings, and in any proceeding in court, civil or criminal, arising\nout of or founded upon any provision of this chapter, copies of said records certified\nas correct under the seal of the board shall be admissible in evidence as tending to\nprove the content of said records.\n(5) The board may employ an executive director and such other personnel as it deems\nnecessary in its administration and enforcement of this chapter. It may appoint such\ncommittees or persons, to advise or assist it in the administration and enforcement,\nas it may see fit. It may retain its own counsel to advise and assist it, in addition to\nsuch advice and assistance as is provided by the Attorney General of this state.\n(6) The board may join or participate in professional organizations and associations that\npromote improvement of the practice of accounting for the protection of the public\nor to facilitate the activities of the board.\n(7) The board may expend funds from its account created by KRS 325.250 to:\n(a) Assist with accounting educational programs proposed or offered in the\nprimary and secondary schools in this state; and\n(b) Support scholarship programs that assist students enrolled in a Kentucky -\nbased college or university who also satisfy other criteria contained in an\nadministrative regulation promulgated by the board.\nThe amount of the expenditure for these programs shall not interfere with the\nperformance of the board's other responsibilities.\n(8) Former and current members of the board, its agents, and employees shall be\nimmune from suit for any discretionary act performed by them in good faith.","path":["KRS Chapter 325"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52576","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:20Z","sha256":"a2c6b26243c3d2afe6c15cc5aa8c9ea9c97ecc80de638972f084afd4decd27b5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-325.230","next":"us-ky/krs-325.250"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
