{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-326.035","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 326.035","heading":"Apprentice license and temporary apprentice permit.","body":"(1) The board shall, upon payment of a fee not to exceed fifty dollars ($50), issue an\napprentice license to any person in training for the vocation of ophthalmic\ndispenser, under the supervision of a licensed ophthalmic dispenser, and otherwise\nqualified pursuant to the administrative regulations promulgated by the board. The\napprentice license shall be valid for not more than one (1) year and shall expire on\nDecember 31 of the year in which it was issued.\n(2) Applications for renewal apprentice licenses shall  be made with the board prior to\nexpiration of the current license, in accordance with administrative regulations\npromulgated by the board. Renewal apprentice licenses may be issued by the board\nupon payment of a fee not to exceed fifty dollars ($50).\n(3) As a prerequisite for apprentice license renewal, licensees shall provide adequate\nproof that they have obtained at least four (4) hours of continuing education credits,\napproved by the board, during the previous twelve (12) months.\n(4) The chairman of the  board may issue a temporary apprentice permit to any person\nduly qualified under subsection (1) of this section. The temporary apprentice\nlicense, unless approved by the board, shall expire upon adjournment of the next\nregular meeting of the board.\n(5) A sponsor of an apprentice shall file with the board an outline of the training\nschedule he proposes to follow in training the apprentice, and an overview of the\nfacilities located at his establishment. These facilities shall be sufficient to provide\nadequate training of an apprentice.\n(6) An apprentice shall notify the board, within seven (7) days if his employment with\nhis sponsor is terminated, or the supervisory relationship with his sponsor no longer\nexists.\n(7) The board shall limit the number of apprentices to no more than two (2) apprentices\nper licensed ophthalmic dispenser in each establishment.","path":["KRS Chapter 326"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31700","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:21Z","sha256":"a4560fd6e6708de68be19178962f88f4ca8fbd9f67a67d867fe4f5363c887cc4","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-326.030","next":"us-ky/krs-326.040"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
