{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-326.070","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 326.070","heading":"Exemptions from chapter.","body":"(1) Nothing in the provisions of this chapter relating to ophthalmic dispensing shall be\nconstrued to limit or restrict, in any respect, the practice of medicine by duly\nlicensed physicians, the practice of osteopathy by duly licensed osteopaths, or the\npractice of optometry by duly licensed optometrists. A licensed physician,\nosteopath, or optometrist shall have all the rights and privileges of ophthalmic\ndispensers licensed under this chapter.\n(2) This chapter shall not be construed to prohibit an unlicensed person from\nperforming mechanical work upon inert matter in an optical office, laboratory, or\nshop.\n(3) Persons, firms, and corporations that sell completely assembled eyeglasses or\nspectacles without advice or aid as to their selection, as merchandise, fr om\npermanently located or established places of business shall not be subject to this\nchapter.\n(4) Physicians, osteopaths, optometrists, and their employees while working under their\nregulation and supervision shall have the right to practice ophthalmic di spensing\nwithout qualifying under this chapter and shall not be subject to any of the\nprovisions of this chapter.","path":["KRS Chapter 326"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31704","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:21Z","sha256":"4ececca2481549959792c30687878a722d7908cd4d57b0fd06d3f52ffe63b5f9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-326.060","next":"us-ky/krs-326.080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
