{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-329a.010","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 329A.010","heading":"Definitions for KRS 329A.010 to 329A.090.","body":"As used in KRS 329A.010 to 329A.090:\n(1) \"Board\" means the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Private Investigators;\n(2) \"Company\" means a firm, association, sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation,\nnonprofit organization, institution, or similar enterprise;\n(3) \"Investigating company\" or \"company licensee\" means a company engaged in\nprivate investigating that is licensed under KRS 329A.010 to 329A.090;\n(4) \"Private investigating\" means the act of any individual or company engaging in the\nbusiness of obtaining or furnishing information with reference to:\n(a) Crime or wrongs done or threatened against the United States or any state or\nterritory of the United States;\n(b) The identity, habits, conduct, business, occupation, honesty, integrity,\ncredibility, k nowledge, trustworthiness, efficiency, loyalty, activity,\nmovement, whereabouts, affiliations, associations, transactions, acts,\nreputations, or character of any person;\n(c) The location, disposition, or recovery of lost or stolen property;\n(d) The cause or responsibility for fires, losses, accidents, damages, or injuries to\npersons or to property;\n(5) \"Private investigator\" or \"individual licensee\" means a person who is engaged in\nprivate investigating and licensed in accordance with the provisions of KRS\n329A.010 to 329A.090; and\n(6) \"Qualifying agent\" means a principal corporate officer, such as the chief executive\nofficer, president, vice president, treasurer -secretary, comptroller, or any other\nresponsible officer or executive employee, who is designate d by the corporation to\nrepresent it in matters relating to KRS 329A.010 to 329A.090.","path":["KRS Chapter 329A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31758","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:21Z","sha256":"084d8ddf5726e94b9a928989a522d1d2f72f22823b8bf870a6ed4458c4b2644b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-329.990","next":"us-ky/krs-329a.015"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
