{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-329a.055","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 329A.055","heading":"Prohibited acts.","body":"No licensee shall:\n(1) Use a badge for identification or make any statement which would reasonably cause\nanother person to believe that the licensee functions as a sworn peace officer or\nother official of the state, any of its political subdivisions, or an agency of the\nfederal government;\n(2) Divulge to anyone, other than his or her client, or to such persons as his or her client\nmay direct, or as may be required by law, any information acquired during such\nemployment that may compromise the client, the person who is the subject  of the\ninvestigation, or the investigation to which the licensee has been assigned;\n(3) Knowingly make a material misrepresentation as to his or her ability to perform the\ninvestigation required by a potential client in order to obtain employment;\n(4) Knowingly make a material misrepresentation to the client regarding the\ninvestigation; or\n(5) Continue an investigation for a client when it becomes obvious to the licensee that a\nsuccessful completion of an investigation is unlikely, unless the licensee advises the\nclient and obtains the client's approval for continuation of the investigation.","path":["KRS Chapter 329A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31767","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:22Z","sha256":"6b9545a70fc14c94360bf53e0faa5c2b246c6f0a6c83b753a8226f4fe96643ea","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-329a.050","next":"us-ky/krs-329a.060"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
