{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-334.070","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 334.070","heading":"Scope of examination.","body":"The examination required in KRS 334.060 shall consist of:\n(1) Tests of knowledge pertaining to fitting of hearing instruments including:\n(a) Basic physics of sound;\n(b) The anatomy and physiology of the ear, including the science of hearing\ncauses and rehabilitation of abnormal hearing and hearing disorders; and\n(c) The function of hearing instruments.\n(2) Practical tests of proficiency in the following techniques pertaining to the fitting of\nhearing instruments:\n(a) Pure tone audiometry, including air cond uction testing and bone conduction\ntesting;\n(b) Speech audiometry, including live voice or recorded voice speech evaluations\nwhich include speech reception threshold testing, most comfortable listening\nlevel, loudness discomfort level, and speech discrimination testing;\n(c) Masking when indicated;\n(d) Recording and evaluation of audiograms and speech audiometry to determine\nproper selection and adaption of a hearing instrument; and\n(e) Taking earmold impressions.","path":["KRS Chapter 334"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=31873","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:58:23Z","sha256":"81100d0267297178f186dc7fe64b1ac1726efec14db891dda771d75bdcbe1f5a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-334.060","next":"us-ky/krs-334.080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
