{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-334.080","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 334.080","heading":"Issuance of license -- Reciprocity -- Qualifications of applicant holding","body":"master's degree in audiology.\n(1) Upon payment of a fee, established by the board by promulgation of an\nadministrative regulation, the board shall register each applicant who sa tisfactorily\npasses the examination. Thereupon the board shall issue to the applicant a license.\nThe license shall be effective for one (1) year.\n(2) Whenever the board determines that another state or jurisdiction has requirements\nequivalent to or higher than those in effect pursuant to this chapter for practice of\nselling or fitting of hearing instruments, and that such state or jurisdiction has a\nprogram equivalent to or stricter than the program for determining whether\napplicants pursuant to this chapter are qualified to sell or fit hearing instruments, the\nboard may issue a license to those applicants who hold current, unsuspended, and\nunrevoked licenses to sell or fit hearing instruments in such other state or\njurisdiction upon application and successf ul completion of examination. No\napplicant for a license pursuant to this subsection shall be required to submit to or\nundergo any training or other procedure, other than the payment of fees and\nexamination pursuant to KRS 334.050 to 334.070. The holder of  a license issued\nunder this subsection shall be registered in the same manner as holders of initial\nlicenses. The fee for licenses issued under this subsection shall be the same as the\nfee for an initial license. Fees, grounds, and procedures for renewal, suspension, and\nrevocation of licenses issued under this subsection shall be the same as for renewal,\nsuspension, and revocation of initial licenses.\n(3) Any applicant holding a master's degree in audiology licensed under KRS Chapter\n334A or holding at le ast a master's degree from a recognized college or university\nand having the certification of clinical competence in audiology from the American\nSpeech-Language-Hearing Association shall not be required to submit to or undergo\nany training or other procedu res other than the payment of fees and successful\ncompletion of examination pursuant to KRS 334.050 to 334.070.
